Where to Take Outdoor Yoga in Calgary

The grass is green and the flowers are blooming, so get off your couch and head to one of these seven outdoor yoga classes. Downward dog among the tulips and practice tree beside an actual tree. Namaste.

Outdoor Yoga Calgary 

Outdoor Yoga Calgary runs every Sunday at 1 p.m. in Stanley Park until October 5. (weather dependent). Instructor Krystal Scott leads an all-levels yoga class amid the trees. By donation. outdooryoga.ca

Yoga in Bowness

On especially sunny days, Yoga in Bowness takes classes outdoors to a little park on Bow Crescent. One hour before class time it's website will indicate if the class will be held indoors or outdoors. Times vary, $14 drop-in. yogainbowness.com

East Village Outdoor Yoga

Downtowners can take a yoga break on Tuesdays between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. on the deck of the East Village Experience Centre. The classes are led by teachers from Unify Yoga and it's free! eveexperience.com

Outdoor Yoga Three Ways

Yoga teacher Marianne Elliott leads outdoor classes on Wednesdays, at Central Memorial Park and Carburn Park, and Thursdays, at Sien Lok Park, until the beginning of September. Times vary, $12 a class. mariannesyoga.com

Hotel Arts Poolside Yoga 

Hotel Arts and Hot Shop Yoga offer Saturday and Sunday poolside yoga classes at the 12th Avenue hotel. Classes start at 9 a.m., are weather dependent and cost $15. Bonus: mats are provided. hotelarts.ca

Friends of Fish Creek Outdoor Yoga

Head to Fish Creek Park on Wednesdays for an outdoor yoga class led by teachers Naomi Parker and Gwen Woolverton. From 7 p.m., the 90-minute class is held at the Bow Valley Ranche until September 24 and costs $10. friendsoffishcreek.org

Karma Yoga in the Park

Samadhi Yoga and Wellness Centre offers a by-donation outdoor yoga class from 11 a.m. on Sundays until September 28. Proceeds go to Green Calgary. Meet at the studio (485 8 St. S.W.) and head to a nearby park. samadhiwellnesscentre.com
