Le Grand Fromage

“Life is great. Cheese makes it better.” That’s the motto at Le Grand Fromage in Fernie. With a selection of more than 200 fine cheeses from international destinations and across Canada, this store has everything needed to create a decadent cheese board. Options range from more mild variations to daring cheeses infused with whiskey, raspberry or merlot. The in-shop cheesemongers can guide customers through a tasting experience and tell the story of how each product came to be. Pick out a green cheese from England known as Sage Derby or a firm Spanish Manchego Viejo. Maybe you’ll be tempted by a blue cheese known as Bleau Benedictine from Quebec or even a Cheddar Smoke Wild Salmon cheese for the coast of British Columbia.
