A colourful new public art installation has taken over the surfaces, including bridge abutments, storage sheds and public bathrooms, along the East Village’s (EV) RiverWalk.

Created by local art collective Light & Soul, “The Field Manual: a compendium of local influence” is a vibrant and intricate mix of paint, layered digital photography and foam, steel and stucco sculpture of human hands.

Running as part of EV and the Canadian Municipal Land Corporation’s (CMLC) art in the public realm progam, “The Field Manual” replaces Derek Besant’s photographs “I Am the River”.

“The Field Manual” is a sprawling and playful nod to the East Village’s history and a whimsical look at it’s future.
