These local restaurants and beer halls offer flights of beer in perfect sample size pours

Craft Beer Market’s beer flights change weekly and are as tasty as they are pretty

A pint of beer can be a lot, especially if you order something new and it ends up tasting like horse hoofs. Be adventurous with your brews without the risk factor and order a beer flight instead. This assortment of small pours, usually five to six ounces, is just enough to wet your whistle. Broaden your beer horizons with our list of where to go to try a flight.

1600 and 1410 Bier Haus

1600 Bier Haus and its sister location 1410 let you sample three five-ounce pours of your choice from an international draft menu. Sip your tiny beers on 1600’s sunny patio in Glenmore Landing or 1410’s buzzing rooftop pation on 17th Avenue S.W.

(1600 90 Ave. S.W., 403-457-4287 and 1410 17 Ave. S.W., 403-229-1410, group933.com)

Craft Beer Market

This 10th Avenue hot spot has more than 100 craft beers on tap. Break out of your lager rut and try something new with its six pack sampler flight of four ounce brews. The sampler is selected by Craft’s brewmaster and changes weekly so you’ll need to ask your server for more info.

Fergus & Bix

Canadians make tasty beers, but that also means it can be hard to pick just one. So don’t. Try three instead. Fergus & Bix Restaurant and Beer Market offers three six-ounce samples of its exclusively Canadian draft menu.

(873 85 St. S.W., 403-457-3344 and 2018 33 Ave. S.W., 403-457-1227, fergusandbix.com)

Wild Rose Taproom

Wild Rose Brewery’s Taproom is in a funky old airplane hanger on the Currie Barracks. Until recently, all of its beers were brewed on site, but it expanded operations last winter. Try the beer flight and taste six-ounce pours of eight of the local brewery’s different suds.

Wurst

A few beers and a giant soft pretzel are a match made in heaven and Wurst has both. Try the Wurst Flight, four seven ounce pours of Canadian craft beer, or the Euro Flight, four seven ounce pours of European brews.
