The Americans are flocking to Calgary, and not just for our mountain views, the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth and our friendly Canadian charm. They want us to eat their burgers too.
In the last eight years, American burger chain after American burger chain opened in Cowtown, with a surprising number of them making their Canadian debut here. (That’s not to say that every chain is already in Calgary – Carl’s Jr, if you want to open a restaurant in YYC, we wouldn’t be opposed.)
But it wasn’t always this way. We put together a timeline showing when certain American burger chains moved to Calgary and looked at when some of our old-time favourites first opened.
