1. Purgatario at Borgo Trattoria

Editor’s Note: Borgo Trattoria has unfortunately closed.

Tomato sauce doesn’t pop up often on brunch menus, so you’d be a fool not to dive into this skillet of eggs baked in sweet tomato sauce, with gooey fior de latte cheese and crispy pancetta. -Dan Clapson

2. Meat Loaf Hash at Diner Deluxe

This long-time classic is as filling as it is delicious. A big slice of homemade meat loaf and poached eggs on top of hash and topped with red-pepper jelly is a nice mash-up of grandma’s home-style cooking meets diner grub. -Dan Clapson

3. Duck Confit at Brasserie Kensington

Why have chicken and waffles when you can get waffles topped with duck confit? This isn’t always on the menu, but it’s a must-order when it appears. The crispy-skinned duck, the rich meat falling off the bone, is the perfect foil for waffles and a dousing of syrup. -Gwendolyn Richards
