33 Acres Brewing

Vancouver-born 33 Acres is nestled in the heart of Calgary’s Beltline neighbourhood and has a gorgeous patio to watch all the action. The patio is filled with picnic tables where you can enjoy the brewery’s hoppy beverages, and there’s even a wood-burning fireplace to gather around when the weather gets a little cloudy. The patio is also dog-friendly, so your best furry friend can join you.

Big Sky BBQ at Big Rock Brewery

Head into Big Rock Brewery and spend some time in the sunshine with a plate of barbecue. Okotoks restaurant Big Sky BBQ recently opened a location inside the brewery, so you can get a plate of authentic Texas-style barbecue alongside all of Big Rock’s beers on tap.

Citizen Brewing

The patio at Citizen is a great place to visit with an appetite. Located near the community of Tuxedo, the brewery’s two patios (one of them heated) overlook the hops and vegetable gardens, seat more than 200 people, allow dogs and sometimes features live music. There’s also a shipping container kitchen that serves some delicious burgers and other pub classics. The wide variety of easy-drinking beers are great for any level of beer enthusiast.

But don’t let the size fool you — this patio fills up quickly on warm days with those looking for a lively atmosphere. Like sitting in a friend’s backyard, Cold Garden’s split patio area maintains the casual, inviting charm of its interior. Potted plants and floral couches fill the space, and umbrellas offer protection from Calgary’s ever-changing weather.

The Establishment Brewing Company

This brewery’s patio is a sunny oasis in the middle of the Manchester industrial area. The patio is dog-friendly and the large list of beers will have something for every taste, from heavy and dark stouts, to pale ales, to an especially large selection of lip-smackingly juicy sours. Wash it all down with locally made snacks, such as the famous Glamorgan Bakery cheese buns, or have food delivered directly to your table from Monsoon Izakaya or Inglewood Pizza.

Last Best Brewing and Distilling

Hidden like a patio-seeker’s Narnia, this tucked-away courtyard is located in the Beltline and offers a reprieve from one of Calgary’s busy streets. The high walls of this courtyard patio allow for seclusion, the picnic tables and wood flooring are homey, and a fire pit lends a backyard feel. Try pairing Last Best brews with appetizers like halloumi fries or one of the excellent pizzas.

Whether it’s a sunny afternoon after your work day or a lazy evening on the weekend, this microbrewery in Ramsay has a great patio to grab a cold one with some friends. There’s a ton of bike racks to stow your bicycle, plenty of tables, a sprinkling of umbrellas and even some twinkle lights. Try one of Ol’ Beautiful’s core beers, like the Pegasus American pale ale or the Okami Kasu Japanese ale, which go perfectly with the summer weather.

With long-time chef-turned-brewmaker Andrew Gass captaining Vaycay Brew Co., you know the food will be equally as good as the brewed-on-site beers. Vaycay has partnered up with Burwood Distillery in Currie Barracks, with a large patio shared between the two. With a beer philosophy of easy-drinking brews you would want to sip on vacation, plus some excellent cocktails from Burwood, this patio is perfect if you are looking for some relaxing vibes.
