Calgary is home to countless amazing restaurants and bars, so it’s unsurprising that several of them have landed on Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants, Best New Restaurants and Best Bars lists for 2025.
This year, five Calgary restaurants made the Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants list: Eight (#6), Nupo (#30), River Café (#47), DOPO (#56) and Shokunin (#74). All five restaurants also appeared on Avenue‘s 2025 lists of Calgary’s Best Overall/New Restaurants. One Canmore restaurant, Änkôr, also made the 100 Best Restaurants list, coming in at #23.
Calgary’s DOPO, which opened in late 2024, was also the only Alberta restaurant to make it on the 2025 list of Canada’s Best New Restaurants. It came in fourth out of 10 new restaurants. Read more about why it made Avenue’s 2025 Best New Restaurants list earlier this year.
And for those who love a great drink, you’ll be happy to hear that six Calgary bars made the 2025 list of Canada’s 50 Best Bars. This year’s list includes popular Calgary spots like Missy’s This That (#8), Proof (#16), Paper Lantern (#24), Rain Dog Bar (#35), Shelter Cocktail Bar (#45) and Business & Pleasure (#46). Cheers!
