In every sense of the word, Alykhan Velji is a curator. He finds, filters, collects and edits to create meaningful collections. The interior designer and television personality’s aptly named collection of home goods and accessories, Curate, reflects his ability to choose pieces that will bring out the best in any space.
The collection, which launches March 26 in Kiya Home, features pieces from a select group of artists and designers. Curate focuses on small run, handmade items. The collection will focus on a new theme each season, and makes its debut with a “made in Canada” theme with items sourced exclusively from Canadian artists.
“I’ve always believed that displaying items that are made by hand – possibly collected in your travels – make for the most meaningful decor and conversation pieces,” says Velji. “The first Curate collection consists of items that I’ve discovered from my own travels across Canada, ranging from small accessories, pillows and event fashion accessories like bow ties – my favourite.”
The premier collection includes pieces from artists and designers including Carl and Rose, Designlump, Lint and Honey, Zoe Pawlak and more.
