Ujamaa Grandmas Bags, Babies and Beyond

Ujamaa Grandmas holds its annual fall sale in support of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which supports organizations dedicated to helping people in Africa who are affected by HIV and AIDS. The market sells handmade purses, accessories, decor items and toys. If you go home with nothing else, get a felted bag — it’s what the group is known for. Note that only debit and credit transactions will be accepted at this event. The event runs from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Beacon Original Art Annual Fall Exhibition and Sale

Bearspaw Fall & Christmas Market

This market has offered fall and Christmas goodies to the community for the last 38 years. It runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Palette Fine Art Show and Sale

Pick out a new piece of artwork for your home at this show and sale put on by the Calgary Community Painters Society. While you’re there, be sure to check out the “Wall of Minis” — a selection of small autumn-themed paintings. The art show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Heritage Treasures Fall Market

Make a day of it and take a drive through the countryside to check out the Heritage Treasures Fall Market. Once there, you can peruse more than 65 artisans and custom crafters and purchase some unique gifts such as re-purposed finds. The market runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a similar market in December as well.

Mini Holiday Artisan Market

Shop local for textiles, children’s toys, jewelry, skincare and more from over 15 local vendors at this artisan market. Seasonal offerings such as plants, wreaths, fresh greens and branches will also be available for purchase. This market runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays (closed Mondays.)

Markt. By Spruce Meadows 

The 20th annual Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market, presented by TELUS, is moving to a brand-new, online platform dubbed Markt. Markt. by Spruce Meadows will be a year-round, virtual platform where shoppers can browse through hundreds of locally curated vendors and products from home. And, you can still grab your TELUS holiday photo through the virtual photo booth.

Millarville Christmas Market

The 32nd annual Millarville Christmas market is sure to give you all the seasonal feelings. Visit the vendors set up indoors and outdoors to find baked goods and handmade gifts such as pottery, stained glass pieces, woodworking, apparel and jewellery. You can also spend the day enjoying food trucks, campfires, photos with reindeers and music. The market runs daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year, the Kids Only Shoppe will not be operating due to COVID-19.

Airdrie Christmas Show

Heritage Weavers and Spinners Annual Fall Sale

With temperatures dropping and Christmas around the corner, this may be the place to find a snuggly gift for someone special. Inglewood Night Market

The Inglewood night market is back for an indoor shopping event just in time for the holidays. The market will feature over 10,000 square feet of shopping space to showcase unique products and gifts by local artisans and makers. The event runs from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. every Saturday of the month and requires pre-purchased tickets. A portion of ticket sales will go towards supporting the Music Mile Revival Fund, which helps pay for local artists and technicians to put on live music shows at venues on the “music mile” of 9 Ave. S.E.

Crossfield Christmas Market

Visit this annual Christmas market in Crossfield to do some shopping for the holidays. This year, there will be more than 200 vendors set up across three locations: the Crossfield Community Centre, Crossfield Baptist Church and the Collicut Siding Golf Club. All venues will be operating at the same time from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.so be sure to make time for each. Bring a donation for the food bank.

Rescue Friends Christmas Market

This annual, pet-friendly Christmas market is a chance to shop local and support animals in Alberta. This year the market is being paired with the fourth annual Remembrance Day event. The market will include 40+ vendors in addition to an online and in-person auction. And, there will be adoptable animals on site. Rescue Friends Animal Foundation is a non-profit that pairs animals with loving, forever homes. This market runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Shawnessy Christmas Craft Fair

This one-day Christmas craft fair is filling two floors with more than 30 vendors you can shop from. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lake Bonavista Christmas Craft Fair

Tibetan Association of Alberta Fall Bazaar

Come and shop authentic Tibetan crafts, scarves, shawls, carpets, jewellery and so much more. They’ll also be serving both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Tibetan cuisine. The sale is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Holiday Craft Fair

The Bowness Community Association will hold its annual Holiday Craft Fair across two days this year from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shop from local Bowness and Calgary artisans selling items such as Christmas cards, holiday decorations, clothing and even books by local authors. More details will be released closer to the event date.

Auburn House Virtual Christmas Craft and Marketplace

The Auburn House’s 13th annual Christmas market is a virtual event this year. The market will be accessible online through the Auburn Bay Residents Association. Browse a variety of vendors for uniquely handmade products, just in time for the holiday season.

New Brighton’s Annual Christmas Market

Get your holiday shopping done at this market by the New Brighton Residents Association, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 21. The market will be held in conjunction with Auburn Bay, McKenzie Towne, Cranston and Mahogany as part of the Grand South Christmas Markets and shoppers who attend all five markets have the chance to win a large door prize. Browse the wares of 27 indoor exhibitors, 40 outdoor exhibitors and 10 youth vendors for all of your Christmas needs.

Crafts and Christmas Baking Sale

Come to this annual Christmas market and you’ll find artisans selling unique crafts and gifts such as candles, pottery and handmade wood products. There will also be a huge bake table where you can buy homemade jams, jellies and baked goods. New this year is that some vendors will have pictures of their items displayed on the Westminster Church website, and some will have items for purchase at the market. Pre-assigned shopping times will be scheduled and there will be the option of curbside pickup. This market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Noel Indoor Light Park and Christmas Market

Canada’s largest indoor light park and Christmas market will be running in Calgary for over a month and into the new year. Attractions will include an interactive light park, food trucks, craft beer and spirits, Santa’s Village, an artisan market and more.

Cochrane Artisan Christmas Market

The second annual Cochrane Artisan Christmas Market is happening on two Saturdays and is a great option for grabbing gifts and holiday needs. There will be over 60 artisan vendors selling hand-crafted giftware, and you can enjoy a bite to eat as A La Caret Catering will be on-site. This market runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Calgary Farmers’ Market Christmas Market

The Calgary Farmer’s Market is transforming into a Christmas Market this year, adding some festivities to regular market offerings such as the sale of fresh Christmas trees and Christmas gift bags. Dine in the food hall, cozy up in front of the fireplace and browse the rows of unique and thoughtfully crafted goods. Seasonal vendors will be offering holiday-themed gifts and people like Santa, the Grinch and a reindeer crew will also make an appearance. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Footprints Dance Project, which provides programs for youth-at-risk. Curbside pick-up will be available immediately following the end of the online sale, so make sure you snap up your original art pieces right away.

There’s a multitude of activities happening at Heritage Park’s new weekly outdoor Christmas market in Heritage Towne Square. This market runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Thursday and Friday.

Holiday Market Monday’s at the Deane House

This small-scale food, drink and shopping experience is a little more intimate than other holiday markets. Small groups of two and four can also pre-book a table to enjoy a sit-down tasting of a spirit newly launching in Alberta, Les Spiritueux Iberville’s spirits. This market runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Christmas in the Country Art Sale

This popular market is hosted by the Leighton Art Centre and features fine artworks and crafts from over 100 local artists in the historic Leighton home.
