Shannon Norberg | Calgary’s Best Dressed 2026

Norberg Hall co-director Shannon Norberg applies the same curatorial eye to her commercial art gallery as she does to her personal style. She often reaches for bold pearly accents and eye-catching surrealist shapes.

How would you describe your personal style?

“Personal style is really an extension of my gallery practice. I’m drawn to creative voices, independent thinking and the thrill of discovering something before everyone else sees its value. The same instincts that guide the artists I champion often guide what I choose to wear.”

Why is expressing personal style important?

“People may not remember every jacket or pair of shoes, but they remember the perspective and confidence behind the choices. Ultimately, both my wardrobe and my gallery practice are expressions of the same belief: that careful looking matters, overlooked things deserve attention, and taste is not about consensus. It is about conviction.”

What do you want your style choices to say about you?

“As a gallery owner, there’s an expectation of confidence, cultural fluency and presence. But if style becomes too performative, it can feel disconnected from who you are. For me, authenticity is everything. My goal isn’t to look like an ‘art dealer.’ My goal is to look like myself.”
