In the past six months, Market Mall has changed a lot. New stores have opened, current vendors have relocated and others have undergone extensive renovations. Here’s what’s new and coming soon to this popular shopping destination in the northwest.
Stores that have recently opened or reopened
After undergoing renovations, Aveda officially reopened its doors in August. Shoppers will be able to find it in the same part of the mall as before, but it will look different. The store has been redesigned to be brighter and more inviting.
While not a new store to the mall, Little Burgundy isn’t in the same place that it’s always been. The shoe store recently swapped locations with another popular shoe store, Spring. Check out these two new spaces when shopping for boots for fall.
This clothing store, which sells simple, minimalist attire targeted at young professionals, has boomed in Calgary. The first location opened in Chinook Centre, followed by the 3,162-square-foot Market Mall location, which opened in April.
The Canmore-based wellness store Rocky Mountain Soap Company opened its doors in this mall in June. It is located in the former Blacks Photography space and is 914 square feet. Browse the wide selection of natural soaps, shower gels and bath products, and know that they are all 100-per-cent toxin-free.
In May, the natural wellness store Saje took over part of the Bentley store in Market Mall. The 939-square-foot space is located across from Victoria’s Secret and sells the same organic products that are so popular at the other Calgary locations. Find natural remedies to aid a range of ailments, including allergies.
What’s coming soon
Scheduled to open later this month, Escents Aromatherapy is a Vancouver-based natural wellness company that sells more than 200 plant-based personal care products. Once it opens its doors in Market Mall, it will be the first Escents Aromatherapy location in Calgary. Counteract the chinooks we’ll be experiencing in a few months by stocking up on natural oils for curing headaches.
This Montreal-based clothing store is scheduled to open in September. The store sells a range of womenswear, menswear, clothing for kids and handbags. It has close to 30 locations across Canada, most of which are located in Quebec and Ontario. This will be the first Rudsak location in Alberta.
Scheduled to open Thursday, Sephora is moving across the hall from its original location. The cosmetics megastore will be taking over a space that was previously two stores – it will be 8,256 square feet – so expect to find any beauty product you could possibly need. Following the renovations, this location will be one of the largest Sephora stores in Canada.
