Red lipstick looks good on everyone. It’s sassy, fun and fashion-forward. It can also be a low-maintenance makeup trick that dresses up any look. Wearing a smear of red lipstick to the grocery store adds elegance to the produce aisle.
Here are three tips to create the perfect pout.
Tone
If you’re skin tone is cool, stick to a blue-based red, and if you’re warm, wear an orange-hued lip. Confusing? Look at your jewellery box. If you look better in silver, chances are you’re cool or if you’re a gold girl, you’re warm.
Prepare
Gently exfoliate your lips to remove any dry or flaky skin before you apply a vibrant-hued shade. A soft toothbrush can do the trick. Apply a little lip gloss before exfoliating.
Perfect
Apply lipstick from the centre of the lips out. Blot with a piece of tissue paper. To avoid lisptick stained teeth use your index finger to remove any excess colour on your inner lips.
