Calgary-based clothing brand SophieGrace started out as an e-commerce venture and gained a loyal following with its minimalist womenswear made from smart fabrics. SophieGrace founder Emma May believes that getting dressed should be “as easy as playing with LEGO,” in that pieces should fit together and click with ease. Rather than a traditional storefront, May decided to create a private shopping showroom for the company’s first foray into bricks-and-mortar retail. The showroom opened this past summer in the industrial-chic Ramsay Design Centre. The appointment-only space can be booked for group shopping parties or for one-on-one personal styling appointments with in-house stylist Carl Abad.
