Calgary brand Celyn Roze has been changing the high-heeled shoe game since 2019. Most of the company’s styles come in five different heel heights, and more recently, the brand began offering customizable toe shapes (rounded or pointed). One of the shoes’ signatures are orange soles. Founder Ropa Mubampwa notes that a good chunk of her clientele are not cisgender women. Men and folks of other genders are attracted to the brand’s offerings and customer service approach. “These shoes are for everybody. If they can fit in these, they’re for them,” Mubampwa says. (Celyn Roze shoes run from size five to size 13.)
This month, Celyn Roze launched its fall-winter 2021 line of shoes. Inspired by the colours of autumn leaves and featuring a few bold prints, the line is available at Celyn Roze’s CF Chinook Centre storefront and will be retailed online soon. A visit to the store is worthwhile, especially on Sunday mornings when Avenue Best Dressed 2019 alum Domingo Lumanog is on hand to offer styling advice each week at 10:30 a.m.
