Plant ownership has turned into serious business in recent years, but if you haven’t named your plants, are you really even a plant person?

Plantsie and its new brick-and-mortar retail space are here to help you get the plant-naming started. A Calgary-based business, Plantsie originally launched in early 2021 as an online start-up selling houseplants with a unique twist where you can customize elements of your home greenery. The store sells easy-to-care-for plants and gives you the opportunity to pick your pot and come up with the perfect name, which will then be etched on a name stick to go with your plant of choice.

Plantsie’s new storefront, located in Southcentre Mall, now makes it even easier to customize your own green friend. You can put your own creation together or opt for a prefab “Personality Plantsie,” such as the pretty peace lily named Hope, or The Rock, a go-getting snake plant that doesn’t believe in excuses.

These plant friends also make great gifts, and Plantsie offers occasion-based options, as well. Go with a Christmas, birthday or congratulations plant bundle, or choose from 10 plants and 10 pot styles for excellent personalized gifts. Plants can now be bought in-store or delivered to locations across Calgary.

Plantsie’s goal is to change the way we look at plants — as an investment, not just decor. Stop by the new retail location or order online to get your next plant buddy.
