A Race for Everyone: The 2026 Servus Calgary Marathon

Learn how the 2026 Servus Calgary Marathon Race Weekend is bringing more people to the start line.

This year’s Servus Calgary Marathon Race Weekend will take place on Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24. In 2026, the focus is clear: this race is for everyone — whether you plan to run, walk, push a stroller or use an adaptive device.

What to expect in 2026

This year, runners can get excited for six distances for every age and ability: the marathon, half-marathon, five- or 10-kilometre race, Kids Race and Diaper Dash. In the week leading up to the races, Servus Calgary Marathon’s energy will be palpable in the city with shakeout runs, pop-ups and community events.

The course itself offers scenic city routes through downtown Calgary, along the Bow River and into vibrant neighbourhoods. And, of course, the moment you cross the finish line, you’ll be greeted with an immense celebration, with live entertainment, a beer garden, a kids’ sport zone, recovery areas and loud cheers from the spectators.

Getting you to the start line

Run Calgary, the non-profit behind the Servus Calgary Marathon, is committed to making participation more accessible, offering programs, rates and experiences designed to get everyone involved. Here are some of the ways Servus Calgary Marathon is making it easier to participate.

The new women’s training program

The Servus Calgary Marathon Women’s Training Program is a free, women-led initiative created to help more women confidently prepare for the half or full marathon. Developed with local female coaches and experts, this 20-week program offers more than just a schedule; it’s a community.

You can expect a training plan designed for beginner and intermediate participants, weekly guidance from women’s health and running experts and community support through online connections and in-person meetups. No previous race experience is required, just a willingness to show up.

Youth pricing and fair entry pricing

Cost should never be a barrier to participation, and the race offers some options that make it easier for families to take part together. Youth runners (18 and under) can take advantage of reduced pricing for all distances. For kids aged 12 and under, registration is $20, and $30 for youth aged 13 to 18 (fees & GST not included). Eligible low-income Calgarians also have access to a reduced rate of $30, thanks to Run Calgary’s participation in The City of Calgary’s Recreation Fee Assistance program.

Accessibility for adaptive athletes

The Servus Calgary Marathon welcomes all participants using adaptive devices or mobility aids.

Athletes have participated using everything from wheelchairs, walkers and canes to Joelettes, Alinkers and skateboards! Run Calgary also provides support for those with visual impairments or cognitive challenges that require a guide for the event.

Family-friendly experiences

Race weekend is designed for the whole community. From toddlers to grandparents, movement at every pace is encouraged. Kids aged two to 12 can participate in the Kids Race, and there’s even a Diaper Dash for those under 24 months. Kids can also enjoy the Sport Calgary Kids Zone, free and open to all youth on Sunday, May 24.

Strollers are welcome in all distances from five km to the marathon, and there are infant feeding stations on-site and on-course, as well as pregnancy and postpartum deferral options if required.

Join the celebration

The Servus Calgary Marathon Race Weekend is more than a race — it’s a city-wide celebration of movement, community and personal milestones. Wherever you’re starting from, there’s a distance and a support system waiting for you.
