Calgary’s New Digital Immersion Gallery Sparks Emotion

Experience science-infused digital art, 68 million pixels and narrated storytelling in TELUS Spark’s new show Every Second.

Every Second, the debut show at TELUS Spark Science Centre’s new digital immersion gallery, is like stepping inside a giant 6,000 square-foot storybook. Narrated by Italian-American actress Isabella Rossellini, the show explores the math of moments that make up a lifetime through immersive digital technology and art.

With videos projected from floor to ceiling, the show unfolds as guests follow a pathway through five different rooms. An emotion-inducing narrative delves into how we spend every second of our lives from birth to old age — did you know the average human spends 11 years working, 25 years sleeping and 115 days laughing?

The project was developed by the science centre with Supply and Demand Studio Inc., a company started by former multimedia director at Cirque du Soleil. It was written and directed by Montreal’s iconic creative group Les 7 Doigts.

Entrance to the digital immersion gallery is included with the purchase of general admission, but it is recommended that guests pre-book a 30-minute slot to experience the gallery and guarantee their space.

Every Second is on now until January 30, 2022, and tickets are available at sparkscience.ca. Telus Spark will present a new show in the digital immersion gallery every six months, so stay tuned for updates.
