Ever wonder what it would be like to be a buyer at Bridal Fashion Week in NYC? Calgary’s newest bridal event, UNVEILED, makes this a reality on Friday, Sept. 9, at the Fairmont Palliser with a Champagne reception and fashion show.
The title sponsor, Blush & Raven, will unveil gowns exclusive to Blush & Raven, many of which have never been seen on a Canadian runway. Owner Liane Knox says, “We’re thrilled to bring everyone up-close-and-personal with bridal gowns from our favourite designers, Ines Di Santo, Monique Lhuillier, Rita Vinieris…. just to name a few. We’ll show every silhouette and the finest fabrics and, most importantly, give brides an inside look into future trends.”
Blush & Raven will be joined on the runway by The Afterwhite, featuring sassy bachelorette and elopement dresses, and Harry Rosen will showcase modern menswear.
Before the runway show begins, brides, grooms, partners and guests can sip Champagne and nibble on hors d’oeuvres while mingling with local wedding experts. Brides-to-be may follow most of them on Instagram and UNVEILED offers the perfect opportunity to meet these pros in person.
Show producer Lenora Kingcott (of Bridal Expo fame) has choreographed the event with Calgary’s modern and fashion-forward brides in mind. “If you are ordering your gown eight to ten months in advance, you want to be ahead of the trends so our runway will have something for every bridal style. And besides,” she says with delight, “who doesn’t want to get together with friends for an evening of Champagne and bridal gowns? I can’t wait!”
