Your last meeting downtown ends, and before you know it, you’re on a pathway into the Weaselhead Flats with the traffic noise behind you.
For most Calgary buyers, an afternoon like that comes with a trade-off. At Taza Park, it doesn’t have to.

The trade most buyers make
If you already own property, you’ve likely made this trade. You live close to downtown and getting outdoors becomes a weekend plan. Move further out for trails and quiet, and every dinner, sports game or show starts with a long drive.
Both options measure the distance to one place. Neither accounts for the rest of your week.
A better question to ask
How much of your week fits within 10 minutes? At Taza Park, most of it does.
Taza Park sits on Tsuut’ina Nation land, just west of southwest Calgary. The downtown core is 15 minutes away. Pathways lead from the community into the Weaselhead Flats, and the Elbow River runs close by.
Who’s already here
Taza Park is no longer a plan on paper. Families began receiving their keys in early 2026, and more than 50 households are now active in the community. Condominiums have since joined the mix, widening the options for buyers at different stages of life.
“Our previous community served us well, but we wanted access to green space and the chance to connect with our neighbours,” says an Aurora at Taza Park resident. “What set Taza Park apart was the combination of location, design and future potential. Everyone here is starting a new chapter at the same time, which makes it easier to meet people. We could picture ourselves living here, not just buying a house.”
Errands now, main street later
Everyday errands are made easy. The Shops at Buffalo Run, a community hub with a wide variety of services and businesses, is a 10-minute drive, with a Real Canadian Superstore and a McDonald’s opening at the end of November. Signal Hill and Westhills, five minutes north, add more retail and dining.
Taza Park’s own Retail Main Street is still to come, and a significant anchor is already confirmed. Walmart will be the first major grocer tenant of the 470-acre Taza Park community, with its opening targeted for winter 2027.

What sits within reach
- On foot: The Grey Eagle Event Centre, which hosts touring musicians and live shows year-round, makes it possible to start a night out with a walk.
- By bike: The Weaselhead Flats and the 15-kilometre loop around the Glenmore Reservoir are just a quick ride away.
- By car: Mount Royal University is accessible within five minutes, close enough to head back between classes. Earl Grey Golf Club, Lakeview Golf Course and the Calgary Golf and Country Club are only about 10 minutes away, where nine holes after work still leaves time for dinner. You can reach Bragg Creek in about 30 minutes and Canmore in 45. Mountain days start after breakfast, not before sunrise.
Most new communities near Calgary ask you to choose between the city and everything else. Taza Park puts a trip to downtown, the river valley and the foothills all in the same day.
