Good Food and Greater Memories

A Certain Flair Catering creates unforgettable events.

For over 35 years, A Certain Flair Catering has helped Calgarians host successful events by ensuring guests are full and satisfied thanks to its exceptional catering services. This year, Avenue named A Certain Flair the Best Wedding Caterer in Calgary in its Best Wedding Services 2026.

“Being recognized as Best Caterer by Avenue Calgary is incredibly meaningful to our team, as it reflects the trust our clients and venue partners place in us and the relationships we’ve built across the city,” says part-owner Tasha Wilker.

A Certain Flair offers customizable menus ranging from buffet and family-style options to plated dinners, suited for any event, whether it’s a small corporate lunch or a wedding for 200 people.

Founded in family

More than three decades ago, Tasha’s father, Les Wilker, founded A Certain Flair from a passion for good food and hospitality. Today, the catering company remains a family business, with Tasha involved in the kitchen and operations, and her brother, Steven Wilker, as the executive chef, both taking the same pride in serving delicious food.

Beyond quality cuisine, the family also focuses on thoughtful and creative design to add a little flair to every event. Those unique design elements include edible arrangements, with intricate details like whimsical flowers carved from vegetables, displayed in a canoe.

“Our goal has always been to make events feel effortless for our clients while delivering thoughtful, well-executed experiences from start to finish,” says Tasha.

As the official catering partner at the Lougheed House, A Certain Flair ensures events feel seamless, thoughtful and deeply connected to Calgary’s history, and it brings that intentionality to all of its venues. The company is available for custom catering, from small destinations without kitchens to luxury venues.

Stand-out services

A Certain Flair’s distinguishing factor is its customization options, explains Tasha. “We always say to couples, ‘We want you to eat what you want to eat at your wedding.’ A big part of what we do is custom-built menus. We ask clients what they want first, and then from there, we create the menu.”

The catering company offers existing menus as a base for events ranging from corporate meetings, Stampede BBQs, funerals, holiday parties, weddings and more. Clients are also free to get creative in their requests. Menus are thoughtfully tailored to reflect the event’s tone, season and client vision — whether that’s refined canapés, interactive stations or multi-course dining.

“The biggest thing we want is for every event to feel special, the food to be genuinely enjoyed, and the experience to feel effortless because every detail is handled” explains Tasha “You tell us what you want to eat, and we figure out the rest for you, so that you can just enjoy the day. We do all the legwork and make sure everybody’s fed.”

A Certain Flair also has event planning services to help with set up, clean up, take down and all the details from start to finish so you can enjoy the occasion stress-free. It has rental arrangements to ensure the style aligns with your vision, full-service bar services and experienced staff to work the night.
