Theatre Calgary’s second show of the season, Iceland, brings you into the lives of three imperfect characters and their relationships with money, greed and righteousness. This powerful one-act play, told through three interconnected monologues, follows these characters — a real-estate flipper, an international student, and a recent evictee — as they strive for financial freedom in Toronto’s condo-strewn Liberty Village. As rents rise and tempers flare, this searing black comedy explores just how far people will go for the sweet smell of cold, hard cash.
