Support Local this Holiday Season

Shop local to discover unique finds across the city and show your love for Calgary businesses.

Calgary is lucky to have a vibrant array of local businesses. This holiday season, make your shopping meaningful by supporting your community. Discover unique treasures, reduce environmental impacts, like packaging waste and the carbon footprint from shipping, and contribute to the local economy while choosing the perfect gifts for your loved ones.

Since its launch in 2019, The City of Calgary’s Support Local campaign has been dedicated to celebrating Calgary’s small businesses and encouraging Calgarians to shop locally during the holidays. Now in its sixth year, The City continues this commitment with the campaign in full swing, spreading the word about local businesses and encouraging Calgarians to do their holiday shopping locally.

“When you make a purchase from a local business, you are supporting neighbours, helping friends achieve their dreams and keeping our community unique and thriving,” says Erin Chrusch, leader of The City’s Business and Local Economy team. “Local businesses are where we can celebrate both the big moments and the everyday joys of life. These businesses sponsor sports teams and contribute directly back to their communities. They make Calgary not just a place to live but a place to make a life. And every purchase helps our community prosper.”
