One of the hottest reservations in Calgary right now? Mille Restaurant & Café. Since opening in summer 2025, this chic Italian café, restaurant and lounge, has quickly become one of the city’s most in-demand dining rooms — buzzing with energy and creating a cultural moment that’s redefining the West End as a place to gather. In what feels like overnight, Mille has gone from a newcomer to a must-visit destination.

Meet at Mille

“Meet at Mille” has quickly caught on — a natural expression for gathering at a morning-to-night destination with authentic Italian cuisine and warm hospitality.

Elegantly integrated into the open-concept lobby of Plaza 1000, Mille unfolds into a chandelier-lit foyer, stylish lounge, refined dining room and dreamy outdoor patio. Guests can enjoy lunch and dinner service, plus an all-day espresso bar and café.

Daytimes are lively — the space is bright, relaxed and purposefully designed for casual lunches and modern professionals. It hums with meetings, coffee catchups and even solo work sessions. By night, Mille shifts into something moodier: the lights dim, the playlist warms and the atmosphere turns a little more intimate. Italian classics like house-made pastas, lamb lollipops and tiramisu draw crowds daily.

Inspired by Italy’s street-corner lounge culture, Mille is as natural for a morning espresso as it is for a client lunch, dinner date, special celebration or simply a spontaneous evening out.

Italian essence, Calgary energy

Designed to mimic a grand European hotel lobby, Mille feels as luxurious as a five-star foyer, yet as comfortable as your beloved neighbourhood hang.

Guests sink into warm woods, natural stone, rich colour palettes and plush, velvety seating that sets the tone for a moody, magnetic atmosphere. Fireplaces lend warmth and ambiance, while familiar music brings spirit and soul. Mid-century influences and ornate wall detailing exude timeless character and sophistication.

Culinarily, Mille is rooted in Italy’s rich heritage, presenting a modern take on time-honoured dishes. At the helm is owner Jenna Bazzana, a long-time restaurateur whose love of food and hospitality shapes every exceptional moment at Mille. Alongside her is head chef Rodney Luzentales, who brings deep culinary passion with dishes that are decadent and downright craveable.

“We dreamed Mille would be a place where people gather naturally over food and conversation while celebrating Italian cuisine — but we never imagined it would take off this quickly. Seeing Calgarians embrace Mille with such excitement is beyond anything we hoped for,” says Bazzana.

Together, they’ve created a modern expression of Italian dining that honours tradition and celebrates community, infused with the bold energy of Calgary’s contemporary dining and entertainment scene.

Come for the food, stay for the atmosphere

Named after the Italian word for “thousand,” a visit to Mille is the sum of countless thoughtful details, woven into one exceptional experience.
