CANstruction-inspired display: Start your day by marveling at a seven-foot-tall “cake” made entirely of baby items in Sporting Life Court. This impressive structure will be on display for a few weeks before being donated to the Calgary Food Bank. Don’t forget to drop off your donations in the nearby box.
All-Day Activities
Community skating rink: Grab your roller skates and hit the rink in Centre Court. On August 7th, it’s free for everyone. From August 8th to September 7th, you can skate by making a donation to the Calgary Food Bank. Keep an eye out for special themed skating nights throughout the month for extra fun.
Shopping for a cause: Southcentre’s amazing retailers are joining the fun by collecting cash and in-kind donations at their stores. Every bit helps in the quest to reach $50,000 for the Calgary Food Bank.
Evening Activities
Drive-in movie and fireworks finale: End the day with a bang! Southcentre will host an epic drive-in movie and spectacular fireworks show with limited tickets available. Get ready to be dazzled by the classic Back to the Future film on the big screen. Tickets go on sale soon, follow @southcentremall on social to be the first to know. Can’t make it to the movie? No worries. The fireworks show will be visible from the north parking lot of the mall and surrounding communities. This is one event you definitely don’t want to miss!
A cause worth celebrating
Over the years, Southcentre Mall has forged a strong partnership with the Calgary Food Bank, highlighted by events like CANstruction, where engineering firms build fun structures out of food cans. This collaboration reflects the mall’s dedication to addressing food insecurity in the local community. During Southcentre’s anniversary celebration, the focus is on the high demand for baby products — a critical yet often overlooked program of the Food Bank. To raise awareness and support, the mall aims to collectively raise $50,000 for the Calgary Food Bank through cash and in-kind contributions.
