Wild Rose Brewery Has Partnered With Professional Hockey Player Josh Morrissey For The Second Year To Launch A Limited-edition Brew

Sunday Fuzz is Back and Available. A portion of the proceeds will support Morrisey’s mental health charity, Glass Half Full Foundation.

Real talk

The last year and a half hasn’t been easy, and the pandemic has only amplified the mental health challenges many Albertans face every day.

This prompted Josh Morrissey, professional hockey defenceman and Calgary native, to take action. He launched a charity, the Glass Half Full Foundation (GHF Foundation), which benefits mental health organizations.

“Through our Foundation, we aim to support various organizations who are actively making a positive impact on the mental health and wellness of Canadians,” says Morrissey.

Wild Rose Brewery has partnered with Morrissey to help raise much-needed funds for mental health organizations through GHF Foundation. Wild Rose Brewery also hopes that this partnership will help generate awareness for mental health issues, dismantle harmful narratives and promote mental wellbeing.

To kick off the initiative, Wild Rose is introducing a new seasonal beer on April 1: Sunday Fuzz.

Sunday Fuzz: a fruit-forward wheat beer

The flavours in this new beer make it a must-sip beverage this summer. Sunday Fuzz is a peach-flavoured hefeweizen filled with real peach purée that offers a strong, stone fruit aroma. Beer-lovers can also expect a tart edge and finish, thanks to the hint of apricot purée.

From April 1 until this fall, or while quantities last, Sunday Fuzz will be available to purchase online, in-store at retailers across Alberta and at the Wild Rose Taproom. A portion of the proceeds will support Morrissey’s Glass Half Full Foundation.

Giving back to help Calgarians

For Wild Rose Brewery, this partnership just makes sense.

“Wild Rose’s long-standing commitment to supporting the community and promoting awareness for mental health made the decision to join forces on this partnership an easy one,” says Candace Potter, Wild Rose Brewery’s brand manager. “The Foundation’s ‘glass half full’ mindset really resonated with us, and we are proud to be able to give back to a cause that is so close to our own hearts. The pandemic has taken a toll on us all, and we hope that this initiative will play a role in making a real difference in the mental wellbeing of our fellow Albertans.”

The Sunday Fuzz beer will be available until fall 2022 or while quantities last. For more information about Wild Rose Brewery, visit wildrosebrewery.com.
