With sports, culture and entertainment options, whether you’re popping by or staying all weekend long, Alumni Weekend has something for everyone. Alumni Block Party
Date: Friday, Sept. 6, 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: McMahon Stadium

Start the weekend off right at Alumni Weekend’s biggest party! Ahead of the Dinos Football Kickoff, UCalgary Alumni, faculties and the Students’ Union host a carnival-like fun zone. Play games, dunk a dean in the dunk tank and fill up on Spolumbo’s sausages at the barbecue. Feed off the energy of the UCalgary community coming together to cheer on our Dinos Football team.

Path to a Pulitzer: A Conversation with Susanne Craig
Date: Saturday, Sept. 7, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Location: University of Calgary Main Campus

Join alumna and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Susanne Craig in conversation with UCalgary Chancellor (and fellow journalist) Deborah Yedlin. Over lunch, learn more about Craig’s career and discover what led to her Pulitzer-winning investigation into President Donald Trump’s finances. This conversation is not to be missed!

Location: University of Calgary Main Campus and Downtown Campus

Explore the arts, innovation, culture and more at one of our faculty-hosted sessions. Discover virtual realities with the Faculty of Science, get the scoop on hackers and fake news with the Faculty of Law, take part in an immersive 3D-printing experience with the Faculty of Engineering, and more.

Chancellor’s Ride
Date: Sunday, Sept. 8 (all day)

Take a 40, 80, or 113-kilometre bike ride through Kananaskis Country. Wrap up the weekend with the inaugural Chancellor’s Ride benefiting the Chancellor’s Scholarship Fund. This ride is a great way to get outside while supporting student success.

If you’re looking to start the weekend early with a night of celebration, make sure to check out the annual UCalgary ARCH Awards on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. These awards recognize some of UCalgary’s most aspiring alumni who are sparking positive change.
