6 New Fitness Studios That Are Now Open or Opening Soon in Calgary

There are three boxing studios, two fitness centres and one ninja-inspired facility to watch out for.

If you’ve been looking for a place to get a workout in, you’ll soon have plenty of new choices. Six new fitness and boxing studios have either recently opened their doors or are about to in the coming weeks. These new studios offer something for everyone, whether you’re looking to learn the basics of non-contact boxing, hop on a spin bike, or do a ninja-inspired obstacle course.

Revive Lifestyle Fitness

Revive Lifestyle Fitness, a new 1,975-square-foot studio in Bankview, opened its doors at the beginning of October. The studio utilizes circuit and interval training in its two 55-minute class offerings, where you’ll use equipment like spin bikes, water rowing machines and kettle bells to get fit. The bright, modern studio is an inviting space to get a low-impact workout in.

The Sweat Science

Hook, jab, uppercut – you’ll learn how to do it all at The Sweat Science, a 3,000-square-foot, non-contact boxing studio owned by a professional boxer that recently opened in Inglewood. The Sweat Science offers group classes set to music in its heavy bag studio with 30 custom-made bags, and smaller classes for six in its Ringside classroom, which features a 12-foot boxing ring, speed bags and other boxing equipment. Private training is also available.

Injanation

Discover your inner ninja at Injanation, a new ninja-inspired fitness facility with a little something for everyone. Located near the YYC Calgary International Airport, the 55,000-square-foot, all-ages facility is full of unique activities that might just make you forget you’re working out. Try military and ninja obstacle courses, jump in a 15,000-square-foot trampoline park, scramble up climbing walls and more when Injanation opens its doors on October 29th.

Movement U

There will be a few different ways to break a sweat at this new fitness studio when it opens in Bridgeland later this fall. Movement U offers rowing, indoor cycling and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) classes, as well as personal training. Designed by Paul Lavoie Interior Design, the contemporary-industrial studio features large windows and more than 4,000 square feet of space to get your workout in.

Rumble Boxing Studio

Don some gloves and learn to box at Rumble Boxing Studio, a new 6,000-square-foot, club-inspired boxing studio on 17 Ave. S.W. that features a boxing ring, training studio and a heavy-bag studio with 40 bags. High-energy music and contrast lighting complete the workout experience. Afterwards, fuel up with an acai bowl and cold-pressed juice at the Rumble Energy Bar or pick out some fitness wear in the studio’s retail boutique. Rumble is opening its doors on November 1st and will be holding an open house on November 12th for those who want to see what the studio has to offer.

UNDRCARD Boxing Studio

Set to open on December 10th, UNDRCARD Boxing Studio is a new non-contact boxing studio next to Craft Beer Market in the Beltline. Designed by McKinley Burkart, the two-level, 5,600-square-foot studio offers 50-minute group boxing classes for all fitness levels that are set to cool lighting and high-energy music. UNDRCARD also has a caf with cold-pressed juice from Cru Juice, coffee from Fratello Coffee Roasters and quick bites from Sidewalk Citizen Bakery, as well as a store where you can get stylish workout apparel, boxing gear and streetwear.
