An Alberta Ballet tradition returns for the season with a production of The Nutcracker from December 16 to 24, 2022.

The Nutcracker is a classic tale that has enraptured audiences for years. Featuring live music by the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, choreography by Edmund Stripe and 120 performers, this ballet about a young girl named Klara and her Christmas Eve adventures with a nutcracker, a mouse king and a sugar plum fairy promises to enchant the entire family. The show even offers some new surprises in this year’s second act, so be sure to keep an eye out for that.

And you’ll want to arrive early — pre-show activities include photo opportunities in the lobby, a reading of The Nutcracker in the lower lobby and more. Unwrapped toy donations will also be accepted in support of The Women’s Centre of Calgary and The Children’s Cottage.
