An authentic bubble tea joint, much like you would have easily found all over Asia when the trend really boomed in the early 2000s, has officially come to Kensington. Quickly opened its doors on August 1 in the space formerly occupied by Jugo Juice, opposite The Roasterie and down the road from El Charrito Taqueria.
Quickly’s claim to fame is its bubble tea, but there’s an extensive food menu at this location too. Stop by for lunch – you can enjoy it on the restaurant’s patio – and order the chicken curry or the Singapore laksa.
This is the third Quickly location to open in Calgary. (In fact, there are more than 2,000 locations around the world now.) To celebrate its opening, on Saturday, August 8, there’s going to be a party starting at 1 p.m. Watch for the lion dance performance.
On both Saturday and Sunday, the new restaurant has a promotion to celebrate its grand opening. Buy one bubble tea and get one free (this promotion is only valid at the Kensington location, not the other two Quickly locations.)
This is the weekend to meet the neighbourhood’s newest residents, try different bubble tea flavours and devour spicy dishes that will make you pine for a holiday to Asia.
