It’s not very often that art gallery attendees get to be part of the art they’re witnessing, but that’s certainly the case at Three Dimensions, a multidisciplinary exhibition by Jennifer Marman and Daniel Borins. See it at Contemporary Calgary from October 19, 2023 to March 17, 2024.

The exhibition features three installations that encourage viewer participation. In the “Balancing Act,” guests create sculptures using a large-scale claw crane game that stacks and moves blocks wrapped in wool felt. Those who need inspiration can simply turn to the paintings of different block sculptures around them.

Guests can also experience the “ABCD” installation, which allows guests to explore realities through mediums like virtual reality and artificial intelligence, and the “THX2020” installation, which uses an interactive headset, narrative video and paintings.

However you take part, this interactive exhibition promises a fascinating exploration of culture, reality, technology and the digital age.
