It’s officially winter festival season in Calgary. The fourth annual Glow Downtown Winter Light Festival is illuminating downtown Calgary from February 10 to 12 and 17 to 19 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. with stunning displays of multidisciplinary art, live dance, visual projections, interactive installations, food trucks and more. Plus, in partnership with Block Heater, each evening of Glow features rotating live music performers.
You can experience this free, family-friendly festival — part of the larger Chinook Blast festival — throughout Stephen Avenue, Olympic Plaza, the Harley Hotchkiss Gardens, the Bow Valley Square Plaza and Brookfield Place.
Every installation has a corresponding QR code with information about the piece and the artist. And if you’re worried about the cold, you can stop by one of the many fire huts to warm your hands.
