On your next trip to the mountains, warm up with a hot chocolate by following Banff’s Hot Chocolate Trail, a festival celebrating everyone’s favourite winter beverage. From November 19 to January 1, 2023, visit some of the 19 participating businesses to try creative, holiday-themed hot chocolates.

During this seasonal festival, there are 29 alcoholic and non-alcoholic hot chocolate creations available. Ride the gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain and try Banff Gondola’s alcoholic interpretation of the chocolatey beverage, made with hazelnut, maple and star anise. Or head to The Larkspur Lounge at The Rimrock Resort for one of two offerings: The Pumpkin Patch, a pumpkin-flavoured drink topped with toasted marshmallows, or a boozy one with spiced orange, ginger, honey, Grand Marnier and Drambuie.

A full list of participating restaurants and cafés, along with their hot chocolate offerings, can be found at banfflakelouise.com.
