Fergie’s Bakery and Convenience

Inside this community grocery store and bakery, a huge selection of fresh breads, pastries and pies await you. The specialty breads — like the raisin cinnamon or bacon and cheese loaves — are delicious, but the sweeter options are really the go-to orders here. Try the famous apple fritters or one of the homemade apple, pecan or maple pies. If you prefer the savoury route, there’s also a traditional tourtière, which is a French meat pie filled with warm spices and ground meat.

This French-inspired bakery serves up an excellent array of sweet and savoury breads and pastries. The menu at Le Fournil is seasonal and can change daily depending on what’s available. Grab a traditionally made baguette and a can of foie gras terrine for a delicious picnic in the mountains, or opt for one of the many pastries, like the salted caramel chocolate tart, if you’re looking for something sweeter.

The Uprising Craft Bakery

This beloved Banff bakery — which makes bread using traditional methods and the best ingredients — opened its first Canmore location in March 2022. At the Canmore site, you’ll find the bakery’s full selection of fresh-baked breads and pastries, including croissants, danishes and even a Czech apple streusel cake. Grab a seat at the espresso bar and relax with your treats after a long day exploring the Bow Valley.
