Local food and drink vendors, live music, cool pop-ups — expect all this and more when River Hall returns for an extended run this summer.
Started in 2024 by Montreal-based event company Aire Collective in collaboration with the City of Calgary, River Hall has become a go-to summer destination. The activation has typically run for around a month the past two years, but this year, it will be around for an extended run spanning Thursdays to Sundays from July 23 to September 27, 2026.
Set in a space filled with colourful shipping containers, picnic tables and bike racks near the Bow River, River Hall will be the site of events like yoga and pilates, arts and crafts sessions, relay races and more over the summer. Inside the shipping containers, guests will find a variety of popular food and drink vendors including Eighty-Eight Brewing Company, Monogram Coffee, Made by Marcus and Cluck N Cleaver.
Each day at River Hall features a busy schedule of music, markets, workshops and community programming. There will also be a variety of pop-ups depending on the day, such as a fresh produce pop-up from Shirley’s Greenhouse, tattoos sessions and even an appearance from local camelid celebrity, Allen the Alpaca. All events are free and attendees can drop in or register ahead of time (optional for many events).
