Summer Night Markets in Calgary

Shop local at these seven night markets happening around Calgary this summer.

Cue the Grease soundtrack, because “Summer Nights” in Calgary are on the horizon. And what better way to celebrate the warmer weather and longer stretches of sunlight than by shopping locally at one of the city’s many night markets?

“Tell me more, tell me more.”

Featuring live music, entertainment, food trucks and a variety of vendors selling locally made goods, Calgary’s night markets have become a staple of our summer season. Here are seven to check out.

 

Inglewood Night Market

Dates: May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8 and September 15, running from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Situated amid Inglewood’s bustling local shops and breweries, the Inglewood Night Market is a Calgary staple that celebrates our city’s long summer evenings with live music, food trucks and a family-friendly beer garden. With 100-plus vendors featured at the market, expect to find locally made art, crafts, ceramics, jewellery, skincare products, outdoor gear and a selection of hand-picked vintage clothing.

Calgary Night Market

Dates: May 19, June 16, July 28 and August 18, running from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Located in the heart of Bridgeland, the Calgary Night Market offers a diverse selection of food, a wide variety of handmade goods and a spectacular city view. The team behind this market will also be hosting a pop-up at Eau Claire Market on July 1.

University District (U/D) Night Market

Dates: May 31, June 28, July 26, August 30 and September 27, running from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Operating in partnership with Marketspot, the U/D Night Market takes place on the last Wednesday of every month, starting in May and ending in September. Stop by to check out participating vendors selling handcrafted soaps, candles, chocolates, clothing and much more. The market will also showcase live music and entertainment.

Marda Loop Night Market

Dates: June 23, July 21 and September 1, running from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

After its successful debut last summer, the Marda Loop Night Market is back for more. While participating vendors have yet to be announced, this market is from the same team responsible for Inglewood Night Market and 4th Street Night Market, so you know it’ll be great. The market will also feature live music and food trucks, of course.

Heritage Park Night Market

Dates: Every Saturday from June 24 to Sept 2, running from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The historic park you already know and love will be holding several night markets this summer. Guests will have the opportunity to shop from local vendors and enjoy some snacks and live entertainment, as well as explore the various shops in the Heritage Park Plaza.

Currie Market

Dates: Every Saturday in July and August, running from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The community of Currie is holding its first-ever Currie Night market series this summer. More than 150 curated artisan vendors will gather in Parade Square to sell antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing, handmade gifts and more. The event is family- and pet-friendly, so whether you’re looking for a day of family fun or a walk with your pooch, this market has something for everyone.

4th Street Night Market 

Dates: July 22, August 12 and September 16, running from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Back for its third summer, 4th Street Night Market is relatively new to the Calgary night market scene. Expect to see vendors selling everything from handmade jewellery and home decor items to food, apparel, planters and more. The market will also have live entertainment on-site, as well as refreshing beverages from local establishments.
