Support Calgary’s Theatre Companies By Donating Your Cancelled Show Ticket

Consider forgoing a refund and using the money to help local theatre companies survive during the closure.

The local arts often bring comfort and an escape in times of need and distress, which is why we want Calgary’s vibrant arts organizations to still be around when the time comes for us all to emerge from our homes. All upcoming Calgary theatre performances and programming have been cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19. Instead of asking for a refund if you already purchased a ticket, many theatre companies are asking Calgarians to instead use that money  to help support their organization during the shut-down.

Here’s a list of where and how you can help support local performing arts.

Arts Commons (Theatre Calgary, Alberta Theatre Projects, One Yellow Rabbit, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and Downstage)

What you can do: Don’t ask for a refund, donate here ($100 or more gets you behind-the-scenes experiences, meet-and-greets with artists and other perks) or purchase a gift certificate here. Arts Commons is asking that people do not contact the box office right now as they are experiencing a high volume of calls. Ticket holders will be contacted directly.
