Crescent Heights Village, International Avenue BRZ and Chinatown BIA have partnered to create the first YYC Bubble Tea and Frozen Treat Festival happening from July 16 to August 28, 2021. During the festival, bubble tea and dessert shops in Calgary will compete for the title of best bubble tea or frozen dessert.

To be crowned the top spot, each participant will either create a special product just for the festival or feature one of its classics. Customers who visit can vote for their favourites on social media or on the festival’s website. Participants competing in the festival include Hi Tea, Koi Fresh Fruits & Tea, The Alley, Pacific Hut Restaurant & Bakeshop and many more.

YYC Bubble Tea and Frozen Treat Festival supports Act2EndRacism, a network of Asian Canadians that raises awareness on racist and escalating attacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Act2EndRacism offers community support, provides recommendations to institutions on how to tackle systematic racism, and provides resources on combating racism not only for the Asian community, but for all victims of systematic racism.

Crescent Heights Village will be promoting special offers throughout the festival on its Instagram page. A panel of celebrity judges will select the winner from the top five finalists, which will be announced on August 28.
