Nominated by Children’s Cottage Society
For the past decade, the Chestermere Langdon Oilmen’s Association (CLOA) has demonstrated what sustained, community-driven philanthropy can achieve.
Through its longstanding partnership with Children’s Cottage Society (CCS), CLOA has helped transform the lives of thousands of children and families across Calgary and surrounding communities.
2026 marks the 10th anniversary of CLOA’s Clays for the Cottage, a signature clay-shooting fundraiser that has raised over $1.3 million in support of Children’s Cottage Society programs. These funds sustain vital services, including the Crisis Nursery, the Family Mental Wellness Hub and wraparound parenting supports, such as in-home coaching and respite care — programs that provide safety, stability and connection for families during times of crisis. In the past year alone, these services supported more than 4,200 children and over 3,000 families.
CLOA’s leadership extends well beyond financial contributions. Members are actively involved in all aspects of Clays, from sponsorship development to participant engagement and volunteer coordination. Their hands-on approach, combined with strong community networks, has helped grow the event into a cornerstone of support for children and families.
Beyond this flagship initiative, CLOA continues to invest in the community through its annual golf tournament and support of local organizations focused on youth and family well-being. Members also volunteer with organizations such as the Calgary Drop-In Centre and the Chestermere Food Bank.
Together, their efforts reflect a deep commitment to community, demonstrating how collective generosity can create meaningful, lasting impact.
