All the Candy at IKEA’s New Candy Bar
It’s a Scandinavian tradition called Lrdagsgodis and there are more than 30 varieties of candy at the Calgary pick-and-mix.

There are more now reasons to visit IKEA than just its minimalist furniture, its handy storage solutions and its $1 hot dogs. IKEA has a new pick-and-mix candy counter in the Swedish Food Market section of the store.
The candy bar has more than 30 varieties of sweet treats and customers can craft their own perfect candy bag. Scoop out as many varieties as you wish into a paper bag, weigh it on the scale beside the sweets counter – the scale will print out the price on a sticker – and pay at the Swedish Food Market counter. All of the candy is $1.99 per 100 grams.
The counter is based on the Swedish tradition of Lrdagsgodis, meaning Saturday candy. Dating back several decades, Swedish children were allowed to visit local stores each Saturday for a candy treat.
All the sweets in the pick-and-mix counter are made using Swedish recipes and are imported from Europe. They don’t contain trans-fats, high-fructose corn syrup or GMOs, and are made using natural colouring.
These are all the sweets you can find at IKEA’s Lrdagsgodis pick-and-mix.
