Where to Find the Very-Canadian Screamer at the Calgary Zoo

It’s part slushy and part soft serve, and all-round Canadian summer treat. Basically, it’s the best treat to have on Canada Day. Here’s – very specifically – where to get it at the zoo.

Sure, you could head to a Mac’s Convenience Store for this oh-so-Canadian frozen treat. Or you could visit the Calgary Zoo and enjoy it while wandering the grounds, watching the animals and admiring the gardens. But know that you can’t get this just anywhere at the zoo. You need to visit either the Dairy Bar or the Penguin Caf. And, you need to know which flavour you’re feeling like before you pick your destination.

There are three flavours available at the zoo – orange, blue raspberry and Pepsi -but not all flavours are available at both locations. Visit the Dairy Bar if you want either an orange or Pepsi screamer and the Penguin Caf if you’re feeling like blue raspberry. The treat costs $4.50 for 16 oz. or $5.50 for 24 oz.
