Local jewellery company Cinder & Sage opened its own shop/workshop space in Mission this past summer. Now, it’s showcasing other local artisans as well through its new pop-up shop series. On October 28, The Gut Lab (a local organic superfoods company) and Wrinkle & Crease (a local paper products company) will be set up in C&S’s loft space with a selection of products. The pop-up shop runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Family-owned menswear retailer Henry Singer has opened a new 6,000-square-foot flagship store in downtown’s Eighth Avenue Place, just in time for the Alberta company’s 80th anniversary. Designed by McKinley Burkart, the new store is home to a tailor shop, a made-to-measure fitting suite, an apothecary and the latest Johnny’s Barber + Shop location. Hillberg & Berk, Levi’s, Sporting Life and Zara open at CF Market Mall
A slew of new stores have opened at CF Market Mall recently. Hillberg & Berk, a Regina-based jewellery company, recently opened its first Calgary store in the mall. The nearly 1000-square-foot store carries the company’s latest collections of earrings, bracelets and necklaces featuring Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones and more. Iconic denim company Levi’s has also opened a new store in Market Mall. In addition to items like blue jean pants and denim jackets, you can get denim apparel customized at the store’s tailor shop, which offers services like tapering, distressing, raw hems, embroidery, patches and more. For those looking for something more sporty, check out the new Sporting Life location, which offers stylish athletic wear for outdoor activities ranging form cycling to snowboarding. And right next door is the newest Zara, which spans two floors and is the larger of Calgary’s two locations.
Holiday arts and crafts market can start as early as September, but November is undoubtedly the busiest month for them. In November alone, there are more than 30 local markets taking place, including the Make It! Holiday Market from November 2 to 5, the Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market (from November 17 to 19, November 24 to 26 and December 1 to 3) and the Little Modern Market on November 25.
