Pottery Barn Kids Opens at Chinook Centre

Just in time to sell American fashion designer Jenni Kayne’s line of furniture and decor.

The kids – and parents – of Calgary will rejoice at Chinook Centre’s newest retailer, Pottery Barn Kids. The 6,464-square foot store opens its doors on Friday, May 29, and will feature the innovative, well made and stylish products for nurseries, bedrooms, study areas and playrooms the brand is known for.

In addition, the store will feature Pottery Barn Kids’ complimentary Design Studio, a service where specially trained associates will help shoppers create child-friendly spaces and provide design tips and resources to inspire creativity in the home. Design specialists will also assist customers with the Baby & Gift Registry.

The first 250 customers to visit Pottery Barn Kids on Friday, May 29 will receive a free gift and have a chance to win one of four gift cards valued at $250. There will also be face painting from 1 to 3 p.m., musical performances from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:30 to 2 p.m., and a special visit from Clancy the bear.

Pottery Barn Kids opened its first retail store in 2000 in Costa Mesa, and has since grown to own and operate 85 stores internationally. As with the other locations worldwide, Calgary’s store will be set up to accommodate children shopping with their parents. Products are placed at eye-level and kids are encouraged to use the furniture and play with the toys. It’s all about them, after all.

For the first time, Pottery Barn Kids is collaborating with a designer for an exclusive product line. American fashion designer Jenni Kayne will be drawing on her experience as a mother of two to create a line of furniture, bedding, lighting, rugs, wall art, toys, decorative accessories and nursery essentials that are an attractive mix of modern and vintage.
