East Village Junction, a new pop-up retail park, launches in June in East Village
It won’t be hard to spot Calgary’s newest shopping destination — just look for the 12 orange, pink, blue and green shipping containers that make up the new East Village Junction. Located near the National Music Centre, this pop-up retail park will house 12 retail, food and vendors inside of the shipping containers. The vendors include Family Squeezed, Font Boutique, Modern Menswear, Rath Bicycle and more. The retail park will also have a shipping container stage and a few food trucks present. Möbius Objects opens a new showroom, studio and workshop space in Fairview
Möbius Objects, a local furniture company previously based near Priddis, recently opened its new 7,000-square-foot showroom, design studio and workshop hybrid in Calgary’s Fairview neighbourhood. Stop by to browse the company’s collection of handmade, solid wood tables, benches, chairs and more. Möbius Objects has also been creating custom, contemporary furniture pieces for around six years.

Plato’s Closet opens in Southwood
Teens and young adults can up their fashion game affordably at Plato’s Closet in south Calgary. Smithbilt Hats moves to a new location in Inglewood
The makers of one of Calgary’s most recognizable symbols — the white cowboy hat — have found a new home. In mid-May, local hat company Smithbilt Hats moved its store into the renovated Fletcher Elevator building located just a few steps away from their old space in Inglewood. The new building offers around twice the amount of retail space, which is filled with cowboy hats, millinery and apparel. It also houses Smithbilt’s production facility and a new event space. The Shoe Closet opens in Inglewood
The Shoe Closet, which has had a store in Cochrane for around six years, opened a second location in Inglewood this past April. This is the place to shop if you’re looking for a special and unique pair of shoes that will set your look apart. The majority of the shoes at The Shoe Closet are from stylish European brands such as A.S. 98 and Bueno.
