A Few Little-Known Facts From the Calgary Public Library

For you bookworms out there enjoying all things literary during Wordfest, we compiled some book-related stats from the Calgary Public Library.

This week in Calgary, there’s a big, bookish celebration. The 21st annual Wordfest runs until October 16 at various locations across the city. Wordfest comes to town each October, and it’s a 10-day festival of readings, workshops, discussions and presentations.

We spoke with the Calgary Public Library to get in the literary mood. The Calgary Public Library did some digging for us and came up with these little-known facts about the city’s libraries, the books in those libraries and which books Calgarians like to borrow most. Consider using these numbers to strike up a conversation with other book-lovers at the next Wordfest event you attend.
