If you’ve ever enjoyed a beer from Alberta breweries like Cabin Brewing Company, Alley Kat Brewing Company or Annex Ale Project, you may have already experienced Red Shed Malting‘s work. The family farm in Red Deer County creates specialty malts that are used by dozens of local craft breweries, home brewers and distilleries to make alcohol.

Red Shed’s specialty malts were recently named the overall and unique category winner of the 2020 Made in Alberta Awards. Here’s a behind the scenes look at Red Shed Malting’s operations, as seen by our staff photographer Jared Sych on a recent visit. You can also read more about Red Shed’s story here.
