Deville Coffee recently opened a new location on 17 Ave. S.W., taking over part of a former old Tim Hortons building that will also house La Diperie and South St. Burger soon. Deville uses direct trade coffee beans that are roasted in small batches to allow for the highest quality coffee. It also serves baked goods sourced from local bakeries around Calgary.

In August, Higher Ground opened its third location on 17 Ave. S.W. in a former Starbucks space. Established in 1982, Higher Ground focuses on providing fair-trade, organic and environmentally friendly coffee and tea. Its new location features a huge mural wall created by Alexus Coates, as well as a fireplace to cozy up beside during the fast-approaching winter. The coffee shop also serves house-made baked goods if you’re looking for a snack.

Good News

Operating out of a red house in Inglewood since July, Good News is a coffee shop that also dishes out soft serve, so an affogato (espresso and ice cream) is a must-try here. Look for the feature sundae flavours to accompany your classic cappuccino from this neighbourhood spot.
