Fall Food Festivals to Check Out in Calgary

These food festivals showcase Calgary’s culinary scene through creative pizzas, noodle dishes, wine and more.

Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival

When: September 18 and 19

Head to Spruce Meadows for this celebration featuring some of Alberta’s finest food and drink producers. With more than 25 restaurants, more than 320 Canadian-made beverages and more than 235 wines from around the world, foodies and wine fans will have plenty to get excited about. New additions to this year’s festival include Enoteca Monza Pizzeria Moderna, Atco Blue Flame Kitchen and Greedy Donuts. Along with all of the samples to explore, be sure to look into the tasting seminars, after-parties and special guests that will be in attendance.

Dumpling Fest Calgary

When: September 23

This one-day festival invites you on a tour through Calgary’s many dumpling offerings. From 5 to 9 p.m., visit a variety of restaurants to try their tasting plates, all for a one-time ticket price. It’s a great way to experience multiple restaurants in one night and try multiple kinds of dumplings.

Feast on Fourth

When: September 23 to 27

Head down to 4th Street S.W. for this walkable, budget-friendly food festival where 16 restaurants will be offering select dine-in and takeout dishes for only $10. Try dishes like the lobster corn fritters at Blowers & Grafton, a maple fig pub burger at The Unicorn on 4 or a pork belly and chorizo sausage roll at Joyce on 4th Irish Pub.

YYC Pizza Fest

When: October 2 to 18

During the annual YYC Pizza Fest, local restaurants create unique pizzas to compete in a friendly competition for the city’s best pizza. Diners are encouraged to vote for their favourites, and a portion of every pizza helps support Calgary Meals on Wheels.

YYC Noodle Festival

When: November 5 to 15

Organized by Hung’s Noodle Factory, Roots Collective and Mach Media, YYC Noodle Festival is a celebration of Asian cuisine. Held in support of the Leftovers Foundation, the event highlights noodle dishes at restaurants across the city, with diners voting for their favourites.

Grape Escape

When: November 20 and 21

At this wine, beer and spirit festival, expect plenty of delicious food and drink vendors to try samples from. Tickets are all-inclusive, meaning you can try unlimited food and drinks. Guests can also attend sommelier seminars and meet master distillers.
