It’s officially time to plant a summer garden in your backyard, start a container garden on your balcony or plan your next landscaping project. Get started by going to one of Calgary’s many garden centres to purchase plants, trees and materials, as well as learn from local gardening experts. While the garden centres are open for in-store shopping, some also offer online ordering, delivery and/or curbside pickup if you prefer to shop from home.


Blue Grass Nursery, Sod & Garden Centres

Located in Balzac, this family-run nursery and garden centre has you covered with its wide selection of indoor and outdoor plants, trees, growing supplies like planters and seeds, shrubs, sod and more. Additional offerings include residential planting services for trees and $20 memberships that get you special perks. Visit Blue Grass to shop in-person or shop online. You can also arrange to do a local pickup for free or get your products delivered (delivery fees start at $25).

Cobblestone Garden Centre

Spanning more than 40,000 square feet, Cobblestone Garden Centre is full of plants to make your indoor or outdoor space a little greener. And it doesn’t hurt that much of the selection is grown right here in Alberta in the centre’s production greenhouses. Cobblestone Garden Centre offers plants suited to our climate, a variety of giftware and eco-friendly gardening supplies. Expect to see perennials and annuals, potted trees, house plants, bulbs, vegetable and fruit plants, seeds and more. Cobblestone also has a free rewards club.

Dunvegan Gardens

Located at Granary Road, Dunvegan Gardens is available to help with your gardening needs seven days a week. Stop by to pick up flowers, potting soil, worm castings, trees and more with the help of the knowledgable staff. When you’re done, check out Granary Road’s Aquaponics Centre which provides fresh produce. All of Granary Road’s other great attractions are also open now until fall for the 2022 season.

Garden Retreat

Look for this garden centre just off of Macleod and Glenmore Trail near the Chinook LRT station. Once there, you’ll find a wide range of items including plants, gardening supplies, greenhouses and indoor growing products. Garden Retreat does have an online shop and delivery/pickup is available.

Glow Gardens

Glow Gardens’ pop-up locations are back with a wide selection of flowering annuals, hanging baskets, outdoor potted vegetables, small trees and other plants grown in Alberta and B.C. Head to one of its four locations to glow up your garden this spring.

Golden Acre Home & Garden

With more than 50 years in business behind it, Golden Acre is known for its wide selection of gardening products and knowledgeable team. The centre has more than 40,000 products at its fingertips, making it a one-stop-shop for trees, annuals, perennials, tropical succulents, fertilizer, landscaping products and more. You can also spice up your outdoor space with its selection of outdoor furniture, decor, ceramics and garden accents. Golden Acre offers in-store shopping seven days a week or you can arrange to have your online order delivered or pick it up at the centre in Thorncliffe.

Greengate Garden Centres

Visit this garden centre located just off Macleod Trail for house plants, edible plants, bulbs, trees, shrubs, tools, fertilizer and much more. Before you go, take a virtual tour of the facility and check out its online resources like the learning library for information about everything from composting to planting perennials. Gardeners can shop online by emailing⁠ or by calling the store with orders. Delivery is available for $50 to $75 within Calgary.

Plantation Garden Centre

Located inside of a former gas station in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, this garden centre has been supplying Calgarians with flowers, vegetables, hanging baskets, planters, trees, seeds, pest controls, bird feeders and more for two decades. You can visit the garden centre any day of the week.

Spruce It Up Garden Centre

Take care of your landscaping, tree and planting needs at Spruce It Up Garden Centre. Spruce It Up’s retail store is open daily, though you can also order bulk products like soils, mulches, sod, firewood and aggregates for delivery.
