Launched in 2025, AVD Inspire is a podcast by one of Calgary’s most prominent design voices.
The podcast is one of the latest projects from Alykhan Velji, the creative director of Calgary-based design studio Alykhan Velji Designs. The studio is responsible for the look of several local dining spots and businesses like Caffe Levant and Cafe Alchemist, not to mention many incredible residential projects.
The weekly podcast explores the many facets of being a creative and an entrepreneur, with Velji leading energizing conversations with guests. While the episodes touch on interior design topics, that’s not all listeners can expect. Throughout the first three seasons, Velji also dives into conversations about fashion, creativity, fascinating life stories, growing as a businessperson, family legacy and more with notable guests like Marilyn Denis from The Marilyn Denis Show, stylist Peter Papapetrou, artist Murray Duncan, Danielle Rose Design Co.’s founder Danielle Chiprut and siblings Sara Samieian and Moe Samieian Jr., who are co-CEOs of Moe’s Home Collection.
